November 29th, 2008 Meet


Enclosed are some photos from the November Meet.

Our guest clinician, Bob Farquhar, provides some insightful guidance to one of the SLD members wrt assembly of the Silver Plume Bakery.

The Display Table

Grant Knowles had his full passenger fleet of HOn3 cars on display including this scratch built baggage car.

Bill Meredith has just received the first test shots from his up and coming AT&SF Hanrahan Reefer. Note the double set of doors and the central roof ice hatch - very unique type of car.

This fantastic S scale round house was scratch built by the late Reg Bilideau and will soon be located on Alex Binkley's layout.

Rapido had a special run of the Rocky Mountaineer out recently. Gregory Gee states this model is very similar to the one he took on his honey moon!

Peter Coleman scratch built this beautiful ice house from styrene based on drawigns that apperared in the NMRA pubication - Scale Rails.

Ron Newby scratch built this "Peanut Butter Lid" sylo for the recent Craftsman Structure Show.

The November Meet will be at our usual haunt - Emmanual United Church - on Smyth Road.
Here are the directions which also appear in the
Mailcar newsletter.

The church is located in the north corner of Smyth and Dauphin Roads, just east of the CHEO Hospital.

The November program will include a mixture of presentations, one on the KitBusters - Laser Structures 101 project and the second on a railfan trip one of our members took recently.


The subject for the November Display table will be directed towards Passenger Cars.
But don;t that limit you, feel free to bring in any railroad item related!


The entry fee is $5.00 at the door. NMRA members can join the SLD / NMRA and enjoy all of its benefits for a nominal fee and guests are always welcome.
