May 30th, 2009 Meet

The venue for the May Meet will be held in Carleton Place, Ont.

Location: Carleton Place Public Library
101 Beckwith Street.

Directions The library is located in down town Carleton Place, one block east of Bridge street between Albert & Franklin st.
Drive west on Highway 17 to Carleton Place, turn north onto Highway 15 and drive into town. Proceed past Lake Avenue then turn right (east) onto any of the next couple of streets, the first intersection should be Beckwith.

Travel time from Ottawa Centre to Carleton Place should be roughly 45 minutes.

The program for May will consist of clinics in the morning along with discussions regarding next seasons "project". The afternoon will include visiting three local layouts, both indoors and out. Maps will be provided at the meet.

Laser Structures 101
As our final "official" event for the Laster Structures 101, we are asking everyone who had participated in the program to bring out their models (finished or otherwise) so that we can hold a formal photo session. We'll have a table set up and a member will be taking the "portrait" pictures of the models for posting on the web site.

Next Years Program
We will also spend some time to discuss program options for next year. In the March meet we had a lively review of the Laser Structure 101 program and tabled some Ideas of what we can do for next year. We'll continue this review and formulate some ideas on what we will do for the 09/10 season.

The subject for the May Display table is Contest Models
Though this is directed to those who displayed models at the Woodstock Convention (Appearance and Judged contests) it also includes models from past contests as well.
Heck, why don't you just bring out anything railroad related! We'd love to see it.

The entry fee is $5.00 at the door. NMRA members can join the SLD / NMRA and enjoy all of its benefits for a nominal fee and guests are always welcome.

Please feel free to call any member of the Executive if you have any questions or ideas. We always appreciate your input.
