The Display Table

Members gather around the Display Table for some morning conversation before the meet starts.

A member brought out his recent purchase - A Fast Tracks - turnout jig.

Here are the laser cut wood ties included with the Fast Tracks kit.

This Proto2000 Drop-End Gondola was built by Bill Meek with painted floor boards and scrap metal bales made from heavy aluminum foil.

This Train Master was brought out by Normand Levert.

Normand also displayed the "evolution" of wood chip cars on his NORD RR.
A Kadee magenet is mounted underneath the Pickle Car that is used to "patrol" for stray ferrous metal debris.

Grant had the largest model on display - a large scale trestle that he built out of recycled trestle bents and new cedar strips.

Bill Meredith's company has branched out into the the HO standard gauge market under the name of Protowest Scale Models.

Bill's test shot of the D&RGW caboose whose master was scratch built from plastic and etched bass sheets.

Jim Baxter had on display two recent purchases from his Florida trip - A N scale CNR 2-6-0 by Model Power and a CNR caboose in the Morency orange paint scheme by Micro-trains.

Peter Joyce is scratch building M&SC Caboose #508 on O scale with parts from Q-Car, Kemptron, PSI, Walthers and styrene.

Clinic - Girder Bridge Installation

Normand Levert delivered a clinic on installing the through girder bridge on the SLD Module.

The January Meet will be at our usual haunt - Emmanual United Church - on Smyth Road.

The church is located in the north corner of Smyth and Dauphin Roads, just east of the CHEO Hospital.

The January program will include a mixture of clinics in the morning followed by a tour of local layouts in the afternoon.


Your Executive is not sleeping at nights while they wrestle with dreaming up a "theme" for the Display Table. Rest assured they will come up with another doosy!
Of course indepedant of what they settle on, fell free to bring in anything railroad related to share with your friends!


The entry fee is $5.00 at the door. NMRA members can join the SLD / NMRA and enjoy all of its benefits for a nominal fee and guests are always welcome.
